Samuel Koontz
Sam Koontz is a lighting, color key artist with a great love for design and storytelling. Sam has a bachelors in fine art and visual development from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. Sam also just finished a year and a half working at LucasFilm Animation as a Junior Color Key Artist under Molly Denmark and Joel Aron.
Sam’s study of cinema, games, and animation has given him a unique perspective on the nature of what appeals to a wide range of audiences and demographics. Sam is fascinated with what prompts human emotion when faced with a story that rings true to the viewer. Sam has cultivated A deep understanding of historical cultures and the feeling that can be the driving force of meaningful stories grounded in reality.
Sam’s deepest hope for the future is to be able to contribute to a new generation of cinematic storytellers that will help pave the way for unique and thought-provoking stories that will shape the cinematic landscape for generations.
